Taking Photographs
We all look forward to watching the children in shows and at events and know that most family members would like to have a record of these important events in their child's school life. We are happy for you to take photographs and short videos during performances. However, when taking photographs and/or videos, we ask you to abide by certain rules to ensure the safety of all children in our school:
- Parents are not permitted to take photographs or videos for anything other than their own personal use
- We request that you do not post group photographs or videos on social networks (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube etc.) as we all must ensure that we protect and safeguard ALL children and staff, many of whom do not want their photograph shared online or, who for safety reasons, MUST NOT HAVE THEIR IMAGE ONLINE
- Any photographs or videos, either posted online or shared with other family members/friends, MUST ONLY BE OF YOUR OWN CHILD and MUST NOT show any other children at the school

- Please zoom in on your own child to minimise the number of other children who are included in your photographs and videos
- Please be considerate of other people in the audience:
- turn off both the sound and flash on your camera or phone
- only take short videos
- do not use large screen devices that may distract others
- Photography and filming will only take place with the permission of the Head Teacher.
- Sometimes taking photography and video WILL NOT BE PERMITTED. Parents/Carers will be informed by school staff when this is the case. At these events your co-operation IS REQUIRED.
Most parents/carers have signed the consent form giving permission for their children to be photographed by the school but some HAVE NOT GIVEN THIS PERMISSION. We respectively ask all to follow these rules.
Elm Grove Primary reserves the right to withdraw this permission at any time.

Please note only school staff will be permitted to take photographs or video recordings of children on school day/residential trips using school equipment. Using personal cameras or devices, such as mobiles, tablets, is not permitted.
Photographic highlights may be uploaded on the school website for you to enjoy. Only children, whose parents/carers have completed a "Photography/Film Image Consent Form”, can be published. These consent forms are available from the School Office.
Occasionally compilations DVDs of photographs are produced, by our ICT Technician, and these may be made available to parents/carers.
