Year 4 and 5 walking home from school after a School Club

As you are aware, children in Years' 4 and 5 can walk home from school on their own at 3.15pm if parents have completed a permission slip.  If your child attends an after school club they must be collected afterwards even if you have given permission for them to walk home on their own at the end of the normal school day.

This has now alerted us to the fact that if a club is cancelled you may not have received the message before the end of school. To ensure that the children are safe we have decided that if your child would normally attend an after school club and it is cancelled, you must make arrangements to collect your child from school at 3.15pm unless you have spoken to the class teacher or contacted the office on the day.  Any child not collected will be brought to the office and a member of staff will contact you.

If you have not already done so we would advise that you talk to your child about what they should do if they return home at any time and, due to unforeseen circumstances, you are not there such as to call on a neighbour or return to school.

Thank you

After School Clubs - Autumn Term

Please note: Clubs may be cancelled at short notice in the event of schedule changes or staff sickness. This especially applies to sports clubs due to the late notice given for inter-school sporting events. We will notify you as soon as possible in this event. Outdoor sports clubs finishing time may change to 16:15 if poor light stops play (in which case we will notify you).

If you have questions please contact the School Office.

GENERAL ADMISSION CLUBS' BOOKING INSTRUCTIONS

IMPORTANT –

Clubs will be available to book from 6:30pm on Tuesday 12th September. Ticket ‘sales’ close at 22:30 on Sunday 17th September 2017, any amendments after this time will need to come through the office.

You can only book for your own child/children. Each club is first come, first served but most clubs will not fill up straight away, so there is no rush.  Please ignore the start and end dates, these are for administration purposes only. You will need to register for the club using your child’s name, and your own email address.

If you are registering siblings for the same club then you can select more than 1 ticket, and enter each child’s forename in the forename field.

There may be an option to join a small waiting list as part of the booking process if the club is full (subject to spaces).

Go to...

https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/

  • In the 'Search for events or categories' box enter 'elm grove school clubs'
  • Click in the next location box and enter 'worthing', select 'Worthing, United Kingdom'
  • Click Search

Each club will be listed at the top of the page.

  • Select/click on the club you would like.
  • Click the green Register button, top right.  If there is no Register button and 'SOLD OUT' is displayed then the club is full. There may be an opportunity to add your child’s name to the waiting list, subject to availability.
  • (If you are registering siblings for the same club then you can select more than 1 ticket, and enter each child’s forename in the forename field).
  • Click the green Checkout button.
  • Enter your CHILD's first name and surname, and YOUR email address in the boxes.
  • Click the green Complete Registration button.
  • Close ('x') the pop up box.

You can now repeat the process for additional clubs.  If you have successfully registered, you will get an email confirmation.

Please bring the term’s fee of £10 (or £20 for Cookery Club) for each club to the office. Thank you.
