SCHOOL COUNCIL
Our School Council is made up of two representatives from each class in Years 1 to 6 who have been voted for by their classmates. They meet to discuss particular topics related to school life; sharing ideas about things that are working well and things that can be made even better. Last year the school council worked with staff to devise a new system at playtimes. This included choosing, sorting and introducing new playground equipment and toys.
The role of a school councilor is a very important one and well sought after. Some of their responsibilities are:
- Listening to the ideas and concerns of their classmates.
- Sharing these at meetings.
- Feeding back to their classmates following a meeting.
- Carrying out particular jobs related to the content of the meeting.
- Reporting to the governoring body.
- Showing visitors around the school.
- Helping at special events.
- Taking part in staff interviews.
- And much more!
