Chartwells

Do you need a fun, foodie way to entertain and educate the kids at home?  Look no further than Chartwells new cook-along videos with Chef Andrew and special guests.

Tune in to 'The Super Yummy Kitchen' every Monday, Wednesday and Friday to get creative in the kitchen with the family and learn to make some exciting, nutritious snacks!  Who doesn’t love the sound of unicorn hummus, or sunshine toast?   The videos can be followed at home by subscribing to their channel. 

You can even post a picture of your children’s creations online, and they will choose a winner of the week in The Super Yummy Kitchen!  (Don’t forget to @Chartwells in!)

E-Safety

DigiSafe Daily

To help keep your children safe, during term time, you can download “DigiSafe Daily” worksheets to use at home.  Each day there will be a new worksheet created to remind you about staying safe, a question (answers on following day), plus reminders to get active and creative too.

Thinkuknow

News

First News Newspaper

Elm Grove Primary subscribes to "First News" newspaper, published by First Group Enterprises Ltd, which is an award-winning weekly newspaper for young people (aged 7-14).  Produced in a traditional, full-colour tabloid newspaper format, First News presents relevant news stories and current affairs in an informative, entertaining and stimulating way, encouraging children to take an active interest in the world around them.

First Group Enterprises Ltd has given temporary permission to allow schools to share the PDF copy of the First News newspaper with the children and parents of Elm Grove.  

The PDF copies of the newspaper can be found within the "First News Newspaper" Class Blogs section in Purple Mash.

Julia Donaldson and Friends

Local author, Julia Donaldson, writer of The Gruffalo series, Stick Man and Zog, has announced a new weekly online broadcast.  The author will perform stories, songs and poems, broadcast on Facebook from her home in Steyning. Each episode – airing 4pm each Thursday on Facebook – she’ll be joined by guests including illustrators Axel Scheffler, Rebecca Cobb, Lydia Monks, David Roberts and Nick Sharratt.

Storytime with Nick

From Monday 20th April, Ruth Miskin Training  are releasing Storytime with Nick; films of well-loved stories read by Nick Cannon, a trained actor, teacher and trainer and a wonderful storyteller.

Three stories will be published each week on our YouTube channel and are ideal for both Reception and KS1 children. So far, we are filming stories by Jeanne Willis, Tom Percival, Jill Murphy, Cressida Owen and Claire Freedman.
